Emergency Eye Exam

Emergency Services

An emergency exam is a same-day or urgent visit designed to evaluate sudden or severe eye problems that could threaten your vision or eye health. Because many eye conditions can worsen quickly, getting prompt care is critical to preventing permanent damage or vision loss. If you are experiencing new, intense, or rapidly changing eye symptoms, please seek attention as soon as possible.

Common reasons include:

  • Sudden vision loss, double vision, or blurred vision
  • Eye pain, pressure, or severe headaches
  • Red, painful eye with or without discharge
  • Flashes of light, new floaters, or a curtain shadow in your vision
  • Eye injury, trauma, or foreign object in the eye
  • Signs of infection or inflammation, swelling around the eye or eyelids

If you are unsure whether your symptoms are an emergency, it is always better to call and be evaluated right away. Prompt treatment can preserve your vision and prevent long term complications.
